Well, for those of you who aren't in the loop yet, Matt and I are expecting our first Little Tessmann in December! Quite close to Christmas actually, which is perfect for a pair of Christmas lovers like ourselves, and quite timely for wedding photographers...haha! It's OUR "Summer!"
I can't even explain how excited I am to have our house decorated all cozy and sit by the lit up tree with my brand new little family. This season just has a little extra special added to it this year.
When Matt and I first found out we were expecting it was 6 days before my 30th Birthday, and 9 days before we left on a trip of a lifetime to Scotland for 17 days. It was our first getaway together since our honeymoon 7 years ago and it proved to be unforgettable. Not only were we in one of the most beautiful countries on the planet, but it gave us time to let this big news sink in, and really made us appreciate every single moment we got to spend together. (Puking or not...haha)
Since then it's been a bit of a whirlwind! Grad & Wedding Season hit as soon as we were back, and it was a busy, busy summer full of AMAZING clients who always took the time to make sure I was hydrated and fed! (A huge shout out to all of this year's couples-you helped me rock this.) And especially a huge shout out to our amazing intern Kristy, who lugged around my bag so I didn't have to at every wedding, and kept the water bottles a'flowing! :) You're the sweetest!
And lastly, my hubs, my guy-Matt. He dealt with everything like a champ. He lugged around the equipment all summer (which is no easy feat!), made sure I was taking breaks (which is also no easy feat...I have a problem..haha!), even got down on the ground to shoot my signature shots that my bump wouldn't allow me to! At home he deals with my random teary-eyed-emotional-for-no-reason-days with hugs and humour, reads Baby T The Christmas Carol at night and is now dealing with my "nesting" (aka emptying office closets to organize, then getting distracted by other closets, and organizing and emptying them too...only to discover that I've now injured my back and will have to walk away for a few days and leave it all in chaos) ...sorrrrrrrryyyyy...."I loooooooove youuuuuuuu." Hahaha!
And well-we tried for about 3-4 weeks to get outside and take some Maternity photos while the colours were still bright and bold, but Mother Nature has it's way of screwing photographers with that when it comes to their own shoots. It's true...ask around! But we did it, us, and our tripod and a remote trigger did the trick! I must say...I am MUCH more comfortable BEHIND the camera...haha! :) Here's a few of our first Tessmann Family Photoshoot.
Many many more of these to come after Christmas I'm sure. Enjoy!
