Matt and I are hitting' the road. Well-hitting a plane. In May we're heading off together on a much needed trip together overseas. Scotland-get ready-The Tessmann's are coming.
We decided last year it was time the two of us took a trip. The last actual trip the two of us have taken was our honeymoon in Jamaica when we were 23 and 22. That's 7 years since our last vacation alone together. 7 years people! (Yes, coincidentally I turn 30 around the time we leave…Happy Birthday to me!)
So we spent a lot of time looking into where to go, and "The Isle of Skye" in Scotland drew us. It had a lot to do with the landscape, and the weather. Wet, rainy and cool. Lots of greenery, hills, stunning coast lines, and lots of places to just be alone with nature. We're renting a car and touring all over Scotland, from Glasgow, over to Tobermory and up through Fort William, the Isle of Skye, Ullapool, Inverness and down to Edinburgh. We are ecstatic!
We've hired a photographer to take us out on the Isle of Skye for some location shooting around dawn and dusk for two days. (We've invested in some hiking boots and have been working on our stamina!) His work is incredible, and I cannot wait to see the images we're going to have the opportunity to capture and take home to plaster all over our walls!! (Ever since the Christmas decor came down…our place has been pretty drab…haha)
Another incredible thing happened to us as well as soon as we booked this trip. We got an email from an incredibly awesome couple who are currently living in Glasgow for school, that want us to shoot their wedding in Medicine Hat in 2017!!! What are the chances?! So-we couldn't turn down the opportunity to meet up and shoot some photos with them while we're there! I am so excited!
Just a heads up to those Grads planning on booking us this year: This trip does cut directly into the middle of our Grad Season, so if you're wanting Grad Photos for end of May/June, now would be the time to get booking! As we aren't back until the mid/end of May!
I just had to share about our trip….Matt told me I don't always have to write about business…so he's just opened up a whole new can of worms on this blog. Any of my friends remember that Dream Blog I used to keep? I may start sharing some of the hilarity here...
Well-it's late. And I'm pooped from a fun Saturday.
Good Night all. :)
